I don't know if you recall, but in the DOS/Win95 era, the MIDI files were played differently from today. Then I don't know what happened, since Win98 all MIDIs have begun to be synthesized another way.

Problem is, back in those days, I composed a bit of midis, and now they don't play as they would because of this change.

Is there a way I can play midi files using that old-school method in DosBox? (I'm using MegaMid 1.66)

If not, does someone know anyother way?

I hate adventures you have to play the role of female

Lôpân:
What they are saying is that you should probably run a CVS version of dosbox.

And that means you should create a new dosbox configuration file (search forum for this, I don't remember the commando).

After that you should edit your newly created configuration file and look for the lines mpu401= and oplmode= and try different settings there, to find a setting for your liking.
Above each line there usually is a small comment/description of what different choices you got and what they mean.
