I mounted the a drive correctly using "mount a a:\ -t floppy" (at least I hope that is right).

I can then access the A drive and view files. For Syndicate, I ran the install program, but when I try to start the install, it tells me that I must be "logged to floppy drive" and shuts down.

Laura Bow 2 conversely starts the install, but cannot find any of the files on the disk as it tries to install them.

I don't know what the issue is, but I am hoping someone can help me!

try copying all files to a folder and mount that folder as floppy.

E.G. mount a c:\flop -t floppy

i've been having the same trouble here, but after using this i got it to tell me that the lable was wrong - it nicely told me that the lable should be SYNDICATE 1 but with that space in. and i cant get the space in when using the -label switch is there anything i can do to put a space in there?

Try pressing ALT-255 and cross your fingers.

I have almost the same problem here...

I backed up my sam 'n max diskettes on a cd, all in seperate folders... now when i mount them

e.g. mount a e:\samnmax\disk1 -t floppy -label samnmax_1

i can start the install program, but then he asks for disk 2 - which has a different label.

to make this as a easy question: do i have to buy me some diskettes and copy each folder seperately on the disks (including the different labels) or is there any other way to install the game via dosbox mounting ?

different disk drives won't work, as the installer always asks for drive a -.-

many thanks in advance for any help! - oh, and merry christmas to all of course ^^
