i searched for some answers and really got nothing....
i got all my info from reading this:
The Newbie's Pictorial Guide To DOSBox
now i have it (DOSbox) installed and running on my Dell D600 laptop with centrino processor and windows XP pro.
ive been trying to do step 2 which is running the program. the program is for a haltech E6K which is DOS. that is where i am stuck.
when i try and mount the directory, all i get is it doesnt exist....
i have the progam in drive C: just like the tutorial thread and type exactly as it is shown (the E6K) program and it still says it dont exist???
somehow i made a shortcut that says:
shortcut to MS-DOS program
when i click on this program it fires the E6K program right up???
so does this mean it works??
normally i can use the E6K program without DOS if its not connected in LIVE mode tuning the car. but once you go LIVE with it, thats where the DOS is really needed!!

am i making any sense???
im really a NOOB trying to get this program working and dont know if i should treat it different like you do the games talked about on the forum....

thanks again for reading this and maybe helping me out!

sorry, i figured it out.
i ddint make a file in the C: drive to mount as a directory. i was tring to mount the actual program itself. after i made a folder and inserted the E6K program into the folder it worked perfect!!!!
thanks again!! 😊

yes it does actually. the system wasnt even installed in the vehicle yet. i ran the wires to the battery for the 12VOLT source for the engine management system and before i changed the serial port it wouldnt. after i changed that it worked like a charm!!!
