Every other current major emulator allows for graphic filters, such as sharpening and Anti-Aliasing.
Does DosBox offer some kind of filter to inhance the image? As it emulates old, low-res games, it probably should.
Thank You.

dosbox.conf -> scaler=
it says "scaler=normal2x"
What should I change it to?
Do you see that large comment-block just a few lines up in dosbox.conf?
ah, ok.
There are so many choices.. which provide AA?
Search the net on what each scaler does.
Alright, I think I found out.
And not to sound mean or anything, as I have a huge ammount of respect for the DosBox team for their amazing work, but.. all other emulators have an easy drop-down menu which allows you to quickly enable or disable certain affects.. but DosBox makes u change the configuration file everytime.
Anyway, here's what my experience so far has led me to believe that each scaler does:
First off, the number at the end dictates how large the window will be. I enable Fullscreen anyway, so it doesn't apply to me.
normal2x/normal3x - Dictates the size of the windows alone.
advmameYx/hqYx/2xsai/super2xsai/supereagle/advinterpYx/ - All appear to inforce the same type of Anti-Aliasing which makes the game look cartoonish.
tvYx/scanYx - Both superimpose horizontal scan-lines onto the game.
rgbYx - Superimposes horizontal AND vertical scan-lines onto the game.
Thanks again for the help, WD!! 😁

Try D-Fend.

Why tell someone about a frontend that is no longer supported or may have compatibility problems with newer releases of DOSBox? Always refer to one of the newer frontends like DBGL or D.O.G. that is still being maintained.
