Do you mean 'whether'? 😅
Klimawandel.
Uhh... are you sure about that? I have Vista 64, and 0.71 just crashes on me instantly. My best guess is it's because 64-bit Windows doesn't run 16-bit code.
Then again, I installed the 32-bit version of DOSBox. Is there an x64 version out there somewhere? I looked, but couldn't find one.
Qbix is sure - he wrote the damn thing! 😀
I am not sure but try removing any joysticks, restart, and then launch DOSBox.
Also, search the forum for something about setting an SDL_VIDEODRIVER variable.

Also install the latest video drivers.
Try older versions of DosBox.
Try different output= in dosbox.conf
probably the joystick bug again.
joysticktype=none in dosbox.conf

Dosbox works fine here on Vista 64. I'll need to test more to see if it has any speed penalty though.
Thanks for the suggestions; I was even going so far as to try recompiling it myself, but today the version I downloaded here works fine with no modifications on my part. I'm confused, but I'm not going to complain about it!
