Hi ALL!
First time here, altough I have been watching the dev. for some time now.
Since H-A-L 9000 posted the directserial patch (God bless him!) i call my DOSBox 0.71 a "DO"Box ( because it does what i want) 😁

I have tryed, everything I can put my paws on, to run a old DOS program, that is (still) vital to me, but to no avail. 😢
Yep, I'm "one of those" that don't play (anymore) dos games.

My app. works now under XP with serial access!!! 😁
Gues what, it doesn't with Virtual PC 2007 with DOS6.22 loaded in it.
I've managed to run it (before), under Win98, but had to fiddle with the serial drivers. + it needed another PC.

Here's my "problem": I need to hide the information on the Title Bar.
the cpu, frames etc.etc. or get rid of the whole thing altogether.
I just need the window to be seen.
I can control DBox exit from inside the window ( using -exit to close my app.) so I dont need the Controls at the right either.

Is there a command or a switch to do this easilly without poking in the code? ( I do VB so VC++ is not my thing (yet) 😉 )

Help Anyone? (pretty please...)

Hi WD,

I'm not trying to "hide" the fact that it's a DOSBOx.
If I wanted to do that it would be done without ASKING first.
If anything I greatly appreciate the fact that it exists!!! and all the hard work involved...

I just don't want to see the info on top all the time.
I't useless TO ME...
On/Off Switch would be nice...

Thanks for the reply.

I't useless TO ME...

Well it's useless TO ME to remove it. Use fullscreen if you can't stand
title bars, also feel free to send a mail to microsoft that their bars suck
or something.
It should be a few lines of code, but as already stated we don't want that 😀

if you search for it you can find a way to do this with a simple sdl command IIRC. It has been discussed not too long ago.

Sorry WD, I've tought it's an open source...

If yes, can i modify it?

...with great risk to piss you all off:
The following was done with hex editor ( no need of VC++)
see the pic. and delete it from here 😉)
..but i think it proves my point.
Ya, and scr...w MS too. never was a big fan of W...dows imposed restrictions either.

Yep....I new this one will sparkle some moderator interest 😀

So..WD...just to get this one straight...
If, I can compile my own version with the Title Bar (/Window Caption whatever) and I can post the code on the Net ( I won't cause it's for my personal use, but just sayng..)
What is it, that you are trying to protect ?

I believe in this: when you give, you give with two hands...

anyway...
It was nice chatting... I have to go and learn VC++ now... 🙁
KEEP THE GOOD WORK
the world needs it

Nothing, think the code IS already available which you could have noted
by browsing the forum. I just don't see any reason why you want to hide
that something is run under dosbox. It's not that there's a huge advertisement
at the title bar or something.

when you give, you give with two hands...

There are other sayings, like if you get something for free you don't
bug around like crazy.

Can you point which specific forum?

You don't expect everyone to be the same, do you...😀
Let me be.

Hey, I APPRECIATE you work!
But, if you where to start with "Yes check forum so & so.." my question would have been answered and we wouldn't wasted so much time being abrasive...
