I know how to create a config file using the config -writeconf "filename" command and then edit it but how do i load that config file into dosbox?

If I use the "dosbox -conf configfile" command like the readme QA said then i get a "Illegal command:dosbox" message.
Im using the macosX verstion if that has a diffrent set of commads then the windows.

Or just

• Right-click DOSBox -> "Show package content"
• Open "Contents/MacOS" to see the unix exe DOSBox
• Open the Terminal (Applications/Utilities)
• Drag the unix exe DOSBox into the Terminal
• Add " -conf " to the line
• Drag your config file into the Terminal
• Press return to perform the command.

Klimawandel.

I don't think this is a problem with the config file. I bet you get the same message if you try the command

dosbox -hi -uncle -sam

Where is your DOSBox program installed? What is the path to the executable?

Try

/path/to/the/executable/dosbox -conf /path/to/the/config/file
