Depends on your needs...but I did a couple of tests and these results were yielded...
Same 2:11 video from LSL7 captured with DosBox with different compression schemes and in increasing size order (all audio raw from DosBox at 48kHz, except where noted; the MP3 audio was compressed as joint stereo 128 kbps):
ZMBV with MP3 audio - 15,348,606 bytes
xVid with MP3 audio - 19,355,928 bytes
ZMBV - 38,517,906 bytes
xVid - 42,616,362 bytes
Microsoft video 1 - 2,011,860,356 bytes
Raw video - 8,522,814,628 bytes

I didn't really tweak xvid, but better compression could be achieved; obviously audio is a big factor in compressed file size...I should have produced a Theora video...but that will happen another day 😜
