I'm trying to capture video, but it's simply not working. I'm using the most recent version on vista 32-bit if that matters. When I press ctrl-alt-f5 nothing happens. I even remapped video to the ` key, and still nothing happens.

The "captures" folder is empty (before you ask, I run as administrator and the program files folder is unprotected, UAC is off). In the config file I changed the captures folder to a different folder on another hard drive, and yet when I try to record, nothing appears there either. What could be going on?

Just providing some more information, even though I don't think it's related to the problem:
1.5 gigs of ram, 3.0ghz pentium 4 with hyperthreading, Intel Desktop Board, GeForce 6600gt, soundblaster live! sound card. Can't think of anything else remotely relevant.

Sounds like you are doing most things correctly.

When you start DOSBox, do you see anything interesting in the console window? Name of the config file that is loaded, path to capture folder, error messages?

Any messages when you start/stop recording?

Can you force an error by recording to a non-existing folder? Do the error go away when you specify an existing folder?

Have you tried a blind search on the whole drive for the captures?

I had this issue on one machine with 0.72. I fixed it by entering the entire path to the captures folder. The other machines can use relative paths. No earthly clue why this happens!
