Games don't belong in C:\. They belong in a subdirectory.

Like C:\CIV not just "C:\"

So create a folder on your hard drive called \DOSGAMES.

Type: "Mount c c:\DOSGAMES" in DOSBox.

Now install CIV1 in DOSBox or copy the Civilization files into a folder called CIV1 in the DOSGAMES folder.

Thanks for the quick reply,

I've tried that still the same thing. When i type civ.exe it just goes to the next line. Get no error or anything. I have made sure all files are not read only. Could it be anything else.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.
