I've been reading about the shader patches/plugins for dosbox which enable
shader/render filters...

But I can't find any guide to instruct us Noobs on using them.
I did find lots of tech savvy discussions about how you're supposed to compile the patches into the Dosbox code itself..

Is there an easy button for these filters?
Some easier way to activate them like we do in common console emulators?

I would love to play some of these old games with crisp new graphics and higher resolutions!

the things you mentioned are present in the default dosbox.
look at the scaler option of dosbox.conf

Yeah!
This is beautiful!

Ok, I installed and I'm trying out the different display options.
It's looking great so far.
Just a few questions;

What is the difference between all the output options available?
Which is best?

Which scaler option provides the best visual results? (crisp graphics, less jaggies etc.) I've tried the supereagle and superSai options, but can't really tell the difference.

Why is the pixel shader option grayed out? Is this option not available yet in this version?

How come when I change the Window Resolution to higher options, I get no visible difference in game? (3d games)

I noticed there are more options on the bottom of the screen (SVGA Chipset, Video RAM, even Glide!) but they are all inaccessible. How can I activate them?

BTW, I'm trying out Elder's Scrolls Arena, and Realms of the Haunting with this.

You can use a special DOSBox build from Gulikoza or YKHWong to be able to use these experimental features.
