Hi,

I've managed successfully to run QuickBasic (v. 2.01) in DOSbox. My intention is to make some modifications to an accounts program I wrote in QBasic many years ago.

The program's QBasic code (>65k) loads into DOSbox and I am able to examine and change the code. However, when the compiler completes I see a message stating that it has run out of memory.

Any way to fix this, please?

As yet I have not tried making any additions to dosbox.conf

Mike

DOSBox defaults to emulating 16 MB of memory, which should be enough for almost anything. You can increase it by editing the dosbox.conf. Try 32 (max=63). Use the MEM command check the result.

You can also try running the LOADFIX command before starting QBASIC.

Hi MiniMax,

Thanks for the speedy response 😀

In fact I had forgotten that yesterday I had already tried increasing the memsize value from 16 to 32. Sorry about that. It didn't work, however.

Happy days! The LOADFIX command does resolve the problem and I have been able to change the memsize value back to 16.

Many thanks!

Can I ask another quick question, please?
Is it possible to increase the size of the DOSbox window?

Regards,

Mike

Yes. It is all explained in the aptly named ReadMe-file mentioned in my signature.
