I set aspect to true, and that only fixes the in game aspect ratio, but it does not fix the dosbox aspect ratio. I would like to know what I am actually typing in, because the words are cut off at the bottom of my screen.

So I run dosbox right? The image is shifted down, and when I move it up via my monitor controls, the entire image is stretched vertically beyond the borders of my screen. My monitor stinks in a way that there is no compression of the vertical or horizontal, and there is only a auto button that automatically fixes the borders of the screen. Too bad that did no justice, it only put dosbox further away from the screen.

So this is technically opposite to those who actually want to stretch the image with the black border. Except this time for me, I want to flatten my image, or put it so that it fits my 4:3 monitor.

Is there a way to make the typing part all small, but the in game parts fill the monitor?

I am using dosbox 0.73.

Are you using a scaler in surface mode? Try overlay, ddraw or opengl and maybe the screen will be scaled properly to your screen. Also try fullresolution 0x0
