When I run Winword 6.0 and Excel 5.0 under win3.11,
(host = win7 64bit ultimate) it just crashes and bang you out of dosbox.
Any ideas for a fix?
CPU: Core i5 750
RAM: DDR3-1600 4GB
VGA: Radeon HD 5770
HD: WD 1TB
MB: Asus p7 series

Buy office 2010. Or get open office.
hmmm, that shouldn't happen anyway. Normally it should just error out with the missing share.exe problem...
But yes, wd is right you get much more out of OpenOffice, running these old office programs in dosbox is nice for nostalgia but useless otherwise...

Thanks for your reply. But I just want to play with old winword, i miss that a lot. Windows Virtual PC is able to run it, but not for apps like print master and some of my old games, seems to be incomplete in the heart.

Use DB MegaBuild 3 for winword over windows 3.11!
I want to share here my experiment results on WinWord compatibility.
I had a goal to run WinWord 2.0 and WinWord 6.0 simultaneously.
1. DOSBox v0.74 is OK with WinWord 2.0, but doesn't allow WinWord 6.0. The last one requires "share.exe", but it is incompatible with DOSBox v0.74 and is not supported.
2. DOSBox v0.74 + fakeshar.com is PERFECT with WinWord 6.0! Find fakeshar.com in "Windows 3.1x DOSBox Guide" by Dominus. This utility should be executed before starting windows 3.11.
3. DOSBox v0.72 is OK with WinWord 6.0, but WinWord 2.0 stucks while starting macros.
4. DB MegaBuild 3 is OK with both WinWord 2.0 and WinWord 6.0.
