So, not quite knowing what I was doing, I tried installing TES: Daggerfall through DOSBox. Seeing as I wasn't sure what to do (I was raised on Macs and DOS is a foreign entity to me), I simply dragged the install app over the DOSBox icon and installed it, meaning, no, C: was not mounted (the DOSBox setup is literally as default as it gets, straight out of installing DOSBox...only Z: was open). So...here's my question...where the hell did it install?
