I run the game and get this error.
Any way to fix this? It won't let me change it to display 256 colors.

Install the s3 trio 64 driver.
Starcraft is obviously not going to work in 16 color mode.

Okay I downloaded the driver. It comes with a bunch of files with no extension. I tried running the "setup" from a DOS prompt in Win95 and it didn't work.
What do I do?
Look up how to install a video driver in Windows 95.
Found the driver on some random page through google. I installed the S3 Trio V64 PCI driver and when I start the starcraft launcher the screen goes black for a second (as if its about to load) then the program exits.
No idea why.
The problem seems to be with storm.dll and from what I've read on the crashing causes of SC.
Access Violation in dsound - most commonly related to old sound card drivers, you need to go to your sound card manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers for your Sound Card.
Access Violation is storm.dll - same as above
So the sound drivers on DOSBox are causing the crash I think. What should I do to remedy that?

Hey, how do I make an IMG hard drive file for DOSBox bigger. The biggest img I have is 191mb which isn't big enough for most of my game files (red alert, nox). Is there a program I can use to do this? Or can I just hex it?
If you made your image by hand following one of the "Windows 95 instructions" threads here you woulnd't have this issue because you could specify the size when you do it. Following those instructions would also lead to working video and sound card drivers that would make Starcraft function properly.
making images by hand >>>>>> downloading noob-made 'omg windows in dosbox' images

Honestly I was just trying to get the IMG to run SC on windows and then I as going to use it on my PSP but if it's this much trouble I don't see a point.
I've got another 3 levels to draft out in UDK and a Cal test coming up. Thanks for the help anyways.

Then you can just forget about it. PSP is pathetic.

Why run it on dosbox when it runs on regular Windows (yes, even Windows 7 x64)? Having problems with the palette? There's a registry fix out there that well...fixes it.
Bloodbat, reread the OP's last post to learn why he wants to run it on Dosbox
@leileilol
Why is it that every single one of your posts has come off as slightly hostile/condescending?
😒
Because they are warranted.
Pester the developer who made DOSBox for PSP.
