Hi there! I wonder if there a way to browse internet from DosBox... I tried to search the forum, but all I found is a reference to DosBox MegaBuild which runs only under Window, AFAICS...

Actually I'm just playing with so called "browser masquerading" and I would like to know how does Dos introduce itself to web-servers... There is no any really valid information at the web so I decided to go deeper and try to find out from the "source"... I know it's a bit weird, but I'm curious about it! 😜

Any help or comment is greatly appreciated!..
...any reference to source of information on how to set up such is also very welcomed!

The user agent string is provided by the web browser. You can make your windows web browser tell the web server it's an Apple II computer. Or you could make your DOS web browser identify itself as Windows.

Sure! That's I'm playing with and I want to know what are valid DOS web browser identities.

The only DOS-based browser I know of is Arachne.

I remember seeing a screenshot where h-a-l-9000 had Arachne running with his megabuild and appropriate packet drivers, but DOSBox is probably not the best platform for it.
