This might be a silly question.
What would be the proper settings for a dosbox with
a resolution of 640x480 which has the window size of a 14" CRT monitor
screen? This is for old time sake experience!
Currently, I have to set the resolution to 1024x768 to get this size. Hope you get what I mean...

Depends on the resolution and size of you monitor!

And what viewable size the 14" CRT has (you always lost a bit with CRTs).

Take a ruler and place it onto your LCD.

Then try windowed resolutions of 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 and see which one is closest to 14".
