I recently bought a new laptop that runs windows7 but now i have run into a problem , dosbox wont work .
When i start dosbox it seems to starts normally but before any text appears it crashes or freezes . after crashing windows reports that the display driver has crashed and has been restored .
I have tried comparability settings and run as administrator but it did not work.

My laptop is an asus N53Jn running windows 7 home premium 64 bits .

Can you guys help me ?

1. Verify that you are using DOSBox 0.74
2. Upgrade your video drivers.
3. Change output= in DOSBox.conf to a different value.

Also report back on what video card you are using and driver version

My video drivers were more than a year old !
Heh i had forgotten that asus never updates their drivers page 😒 .
I feel so stupid now 🤣 .

anyway thanks a lot DosFreak .

P.S. if you still want to know my laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M and the driver version i was running that caused the problems was 189.64 IIRC
