Hello, I am new to this group. I am using DosBox to run a billing program under Windows 7, Home edition. Two days ago I received a few automatic windows updates, and now dosbox will load, but it won't allow me to type the mount command or accept any input at all. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? And more importantly, how do I fix it?

Please respond to my email, as well as to this group post.

Search for windib here for a possible solution and update your keyboard drivers to the newest from the maker.
Not gonna email. Either the problem is important enough for you to check here or you don't care enough. Extra work is yours to make not us

To Dominus:

I am very surprised by the hostile response to an innocent question. Asking how to solve a problem is not asking someone to do it for me, but only to learn if someone has a solution. If I don't know where to look for it, how would I find it? I asked to be emailed the response because I do not always have the chance to get on this list. I did not realize this would be interpretted as "not caring enough." I certainly hope that your lack of civility is not indicative of thr nature of the users on this group.

The request to get an additional email is enough to get banned on certain mailing lists or forums.
BUT I made sure to send you on the right track before telling you about the email request thing. If you see this as hostile then you have led a very sheltered life up to now

1) None of us are getting paid to reply to your question. Why make things more difficult for us? 2) We do not answer questions just for you but for anyone else who might have a similar problem. This is called efficiency. This works when all of the thread is here.

One thing that will help you is when you post, check "Notify me when a reply is posted". When there is a reply to your post, you will get an automated E-mail telling there has been a reply. Then, you come back and read the reply. There is no need to keep checking if you use this.

Sincerely,

Gene Wirchenko

First I'd try to revert the MS updates manually or better restore the system before the updates and turn off automatic updates. I really can understand, that the thread starter is panicked and looking for help, MS is doing this from time to time, a few days ago there'a been an issue with some ttf fonts not working anymore after an update.

In order to help the thread starter in the long run, quick google search found Problems with HP laptop keyboard mapping , and there's http://www.dosbox.com/DOSBoxManual.html#BackslashWin .
