DOSBox version:
Megabuild 6 for OS X, downloaded on 3-25-2013

Hi guys, new to DOSBox so please go easy on me.

Initially, I wanted to play around with the dosbox.conf, which I can't even find on my system?

According to the docs, it should be in the user/Library/Preferences folder

I've even tried to create it within DOSBOX with config -writeconf dosbox.conf but I still can't find it.

So I tried creating my own and placing it next to the DOSBox MB6.app file, which I dbl-click to run the program. Didn't work.

Any ideas ?

That Megabuild is ancient (close to 3 years old); perhaps try something newer? (No Megabuilds available, though)
Did you try your home folder for the .conf file? According to the source for Megabuild...it *should* be

 ~/Library/Preferences/DOSBox SVN_MB6 Preferences

(that's the file, it seems no .conf extension, from cross.cpp).

I'm pretty sure the readme states the name and location of the conf on OS X.
If you want the newest SVN snapshot, use mine in my sig.

Thank you both for the info - much appreciated. Will check out a newer build as per your sig.

If I told you, I'll be using it to run an old DOS database which prints to LPT1

I want to capture that print and send it to a networked printer on the LAN - is this possible, or am I barking up the wrong tree ?

With lock stock Dosbox (release or my svn build) impossible. With the megabuild perhaps but no idea... Also look for posts by emendelson he has some hackish additions which might make it possible somehow. Also not sure whether that works for os x

Arrgh, being a Mac newbie I didn't alter Finder to view hidden files - they were there all along, just hidden from view.
