So I've a Roland MT-32 attached to my computer which works when playing midi files. I also managed to get it work with DOSBox. However, now I've come across a problem: When I use DOSBox recording function it doesn't record the music played through the MT32 - it just records the non-altered music (as if I had no additional device attached, the SB card is on its own).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes that's correct.

Worse is you will find that if you use an external application to record the audio, the video and audio will drift out of sync.

This is one of the reasons why I switched to having a real DOS machine.

The other option is to use other capture software like bandicam or external devices like HDMI capture cards.

How could Dosbox possibly record the mt32 music? Dosbox just relays the sysex commands to the mt32 and then the Mt32 produces the music and outputs it via its line-out. This could even be hooked up to just some speakers and not your computer... You see the problem?

I made an experimental patch to solve that in case you missed it:
