Hi
Does it really matter what kind of video card you have when using Dos box,or is it more important that you have a fast cpu? In other words does it help to have a really good video card on a low end or average machine? for example! just curious. Thanks 😀

Processor is important, video card is unimportant (well, DOSBOX 0.61 requires working OpenGL, but it was already repaired in CVS - CVS should again work even without OpenGL).
OpenGL support in DOSBOX is used (optionally) just for resizing and bilinear filtering, no 3D is used.
So if you want better perfomance in DOSBOX, sell your high end CeForce/Radeon, buy the cheapest card available & invest into processor. 😀 😀 😀

Interesting!! I wonder how the new Amd 64fx will perform with Dos box0.61? with an Asus 9800xt card of course.... Imagine the possibilities!!! 😁 😁

With 9800xt it will work as fast as with any other agp 8x card. So e.g geforce 4 MX is OK. And even lower AGP speeds won't hurt performance much.
Athlon 64fx should be very good for dosbox (although it's pipeline has 12 stages, two more than Athlon XP, but much less than intel's Prescott - 30).
