I'm a proud owner of an XDA II, which is a Windows Mobile 2003 mobile phone.... it's specs are pretty stunning:

Intel XScale (ARM) 400Mhz Processor
128Mb RAM
Support for MMC / SD Memory cards (1Gb+)

I think that this would potentially be a great platform for DOSBox (although I'm sure someone will prove me wrong). There are plenty of tools available for it (Visual C++, etc) from the MS site

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resour … er/default.mspx

Plus a version of SDL (which I believe Dosbox would need?):

I'm not asking for the developers to take time out to convert to this system (I'm thinking of doing that myself), but was wondering if they thought it would be feasable?

Many thanks

Steven

The biggest problem you'd run into is the speed: 400 MHz is really not enough to emulate DOS programs at an acceptable speed. Maybe you'd just manage to emulate an original XT (4.77 MHz), but that's about it. Remember DOSBox is primarily a games emulator, and I doubt whether you'd be able to get any game running at a decent speed.

Well realmode games should be possible

If there is visual C++ for your platform. Try compiling dosbox. It's compiles under x86 win32 with visual C++
