the keyboard seems to work inconsistently in particular with keyboard combos such as ctrl- alt- or shift- keystrokes in a game. The keystrokes might work, but after playing for a few seconds, (or maybe minutes) they stop working. e.g. in prince of persia 2, alt-l to load a game or the combo for quitting works at first, but after a while, all key combos like this stop working. this occurs in dosbox (i am using 0.61). Any help is appreciated.

I have a similar issue.
In prince2, if you start the game with "prince makinit", then just keeping the left arrow pressed for a shor time, will reduce all your health. Short taps on the left arrow are ok.

Same for me.

E.g. Ctrl+O works fine first, but after pressing Ctrl and Shift a few times it doesn't work anymore.

The SuSE-rpm, i installed, had still v6.1.

But I compiled me a new version and now it works fine. Thx. 😀

Just to clarify: reading the above mentioned it seemed to be only a game specific problem in Prince of Persia 2 (possibly fixed(?) in 0.63 - I did not test it myself)

not game specificly. the keyboard itself got improved a lot since 0.61
there weren't many changes between 0.62-0.63 though

I have been having similair problems in DOSBox 0.65. Prince of Persia II doesn't work properly when started with the "makinit" command line option (which starts the game in cheater/trainer mode.) One of the things that happen is that the prince looses all of his health when trying to move to the left.

EDIT: Solved.
