I have the problem that when you add new files to local directories they don't appear in DOSBox, so I assume DOSBox does use something like a cache for the mounted directories.

Is there a possibilty to disable it so that DOSBox is immediately aware of changed and added files in the mounted directories?

No. But you can use command RESCAN (when you are in DOSBOX shell).
