I have a Celeron N2840 notebook that has sound issues on certain applications. I notice if I run Windows 3.1 or El-Fish, if I have the cycles set higher than 20000, the sound will be choppy. But I have no sound problems with Doom or Descent. What could be causing the selective choppiness? I've tried tinkering with the CPU type, block size, prebuffer etc and it has no effect. Only lowering the cycles helps...which isn't what you want on El-Fish.

Yeah, it was a bargain price so I couldn't resist. I was hoping there was some way around it but looks like I am getting my just desserts for being cheap. Ah well.
