I should realy get rid of this ugly php-links ,)

and no, my builds aren't dead - I just forgot it last week 😉
I'll update them again later today.

Maybe some staff member may add my page to the linksektion?
As there is no need to register to get the build or something like this, and the dosbox cvs has lots of improvements over the last release (although it might be a bit unstable sometims), lots of people may like CVS builds.

perl script called cvs2cl
takes the cvs-commit messages and puts them in a large textfile

XTale and Qbix: Thanks. I really want to get the tools to do it myself so I can generate an up-to-the-minute changelog directly from Sourceforge. I'll track down cvs2cl and start messing with it 😀

I've been having to use the CVS browser to hunt for changes in the DOSBox source tree to see if I need to re-download it. This will save me a lot of trouble.

Is it updated manually (i.e. by a human) or automatically?

XTale - I see some weird differences in the size of the dosbox.exe's from your Windows builds:

Official 0.63 - 2004-11-18: 1,667,584 bytes
CVS build - 2004-12-06: 989,184 bytes
CVS build - 2004-12-19: 359.936 bytes

I know about the missing net-support and screendump from your CVS builds, but where did the 500 KB go?

Qbix: Ah, thanks. I guess I'll bookmark that then, as I can't suss how to use this Perl-based monster (cvs2cl) to parse the CVS log directly from Sourceforge (i.e. I think I have to checkout the package first and then run cvs2cl on what I grabbed, correct?)

MiniMax: Holy crap. I think I have a bare-minimum build (except with net support I think) and after stripping it, it's 1,303,552 bytes. I don't see how net support could add a whole megabyte.

EDIT: I knew you'd reply before I did 😉

I think "developement" is easier to understand than "CVS"

People who don't know what a CVS build is most probably don't need to use one 😀
