This one is an INTeL-only build and it is optimized for Core(2)Duo CPUs using -march=nocona -mtune=pentium-m -msse3.

The "idiots fix" as you call it shouldn't be necessary in the cvs sources
to compile dosbox with the dynamic core, yet you have to disable the
host fpu usage (decoder.h) as far as i know due to gcc incompatibilities.

rhoenie, your blog is confusing... does your Dosbox need X11 and which build is the latest which doesn't need X11?

The latest intel version is 0.63 and it runs my games fine...all except the dynamic core doesn't work when running a game that uses the emulated sound card as it causes Dosbox to crash and so you have to use the normal core instead... dynamic core crashes with this error:

Life is confusing and so is my blog. 😀

I am waiting for Moe's updated opengl-hq patches. As soon as they are released I will make a new blog entry with a new binary that is statically linked to the modified SDL library (without X11 dependancies). So stay tuned..

DosBox CVS now builds fine on os x w/ dynamic cpu support. no patches needed. just pulled the tree tonight and built w/o error.

Has the issue been fixed with the skipping sound on Universal builds of DosBox? Every game I try, the sounds skips. The emulation speed is perfect but the sounds skips. No matter how high I turn up the cycles.

Read the readme, the faq, the guides, it's been said countless times: DON'T turn up cycles too high, or sound will skip.

Dude, I know about that. I read elsewhere that there is a problem with the universal build of DosBox (http://mac.punknews.org/dosbox) in that the sound card emulation skips no matter what. I have seen this myself in testing out this build. Is there another universal build with a working dynamic core with sound emulation working proper?
