Hi, folks

Just wanted to pop in, introduce myself and thank you all for the great DosBOX icons provided here.

I just started reliving some of the games from Abandonia, and now I'm regretting selling away all my old Lucasarts games at a garage sale.

Well anyway, you guys rock!

This is not an external icon (.ico), but an internal one which can be found in the dosbox homepage. Here is a patch to apply.
(I am going to use it in my build.)

Usage: patch -up1 < icon.patch

How about this, but with a dark background ?
; Only because it is eventually what every needs when dealing with DOSBox.

I like eobet's the best, the one ykhwong is using in his latest build where each letter is a different bright color. It's simple but colorful. It's easy to spot even when small. The colors and style just leave me with a good impression of DOSBox. It says "Even though it's for old games, DOSBox itself is new and vibrant".

The ChaosFish one is OK, the one used in Gulikoza's latest build with the gold and rust color scheme in a box shape. But relative to eobet's, it just plain and doesn't stand out.

The funniest ones are static's actual DOS-in-a-box theme, which is actually kind of cool, and Tabris's liquid refreshment theme.

For myself, I am hoping to make one with a naked picture of Scarlett Johansson or Jessica Alba. But alas, I have no drawing tools or skill, and I'm not sure they scale down very well. So I'll just use eobet's for now.

By the way, in ykhwong's build, the Status Window has the eobet icon in the upper left, but the main DOSBox window doesn't. How does one get the icon in the main window?

One last thing, I agree with one of the posts about the Z: prompt and Novell. When I first started up DOSBox, I thought "A Z: prompt? Just like Novell".

I still think a mod of eobet's where D O and S create a cube would be a great idea...

Hasn't really seen any activity in awhile, anyone doing any icons? I've been using red_avatar's blue shiny one but it would be nice to see some other works of art.

How about such a "Fallout"-like 50s retro scif-fi icon (something like a battered cathode ray tube)? Any idea what I'm talking about 😉 ?

Maybe I'll make one like that, when I have some spare time.

And some 3D icons in case anyone likes this sort of thing.
I added the svg file so feel free to edit the design yourself if you care.

Here is a scalable icon similar to (but not entirely identical with) Ykhwong's white-on-black "Z:" internal icon on an earlier page. I hope someone might find it useful.

Your icon is not that bad but isn't it too round at the edge? I prefer relatively sharper one.

@ykhwong - Here's a Z: icon with a sharper edge. It more closely matches your logo file. I hope it may be useful!

And here's an image. The gray background is not part of the icon:
