Hi. Firstly, I have to say that dosbox is the best as ever it was! Before 0.65 I couldn't even run earth 2140, in 0.65 i can play it, now in 0.70 even sound runs fine!

So here's the problem. Playing over net is possible but it isn't smooth, e.g. sometimes it sutters. When there are more units and more movement on the map more it sutters. Do I have to wait for new version or it is solved in some CVS builds?

maybe get a faster pc ?
Or does the game normally not stutter when there are a lot of units ?

Only way to know for sure is to play the game on the original hardware and network connection with another computer with the same setup.....

yes i have enough fast pc (athlon 64 3500+), 1GB ram. When i play normal singleplayer it doesn't sutter. So one time it is normal, i build units and so on. Then it sutters for 1-2 sec and then its normal. And I can't play it under pure dos, because i don't have dos drivers for my integrated sound card and network card (when I was using my previous computer i had proper dos drivers but its gone now, motherboard problem).

Could it be that your internet bandwidth is the limiting factor?

no because i'm playing on gigabit ethernet not internet

edit: can ykhwong's CVS build help? As it has improved IPX support. Thanks!!!

This is in DOSBox 0.70 already.

You could check your task manager (CPU usage) when it happens.

1+1=10
