I'm using DOSBox 0.7, when I launch H3-DP, the screen goes all black, and I only hear the sounds of the game. And nothing happens.

Windows XP - P4 3.8Ghz - 1Gb RAM - nVidia 7800GS

Any ideas?

ps->All other games I play run fine.

Then it must a me a problem of the game accessing video. VESA mode problem maybe? Does this game need VESA?

Yes.

Also, I've tried fiddling with the uvconfig.exe utility to no avail.

And that's strange, there is a guy who said he could play it well in v0.61.

Try using the modified UNIVESA. Just rename proper file to univbe.drv

Hey, thanks, eL_PuSHeR, it works. But now, something strange has happened. When I start the game, the controls seem to go crazy. The interface of the game goes changing away, like I were pressing buttons repeatdly, but I press nothing. At first, I thought it was joystick related issue, but I've disabled the joystick emulation and the problem persists...

Try unplugging all joysticks PHYSICALLY.

Try entering "core normal" (without quotes) at the Z:\> DOSBox prompt before starting the game.

Try entering also a value for cycles. Try "cycles max" or "cycles 20000" for instance.

The problem persists, I guess it's some sort of bug from the game. Anyway, I can live with that as it only occurs in the interface, not in gameplay.

Thanks, eL_PuSHeR. You were of great help. 😉
