Ok first off, Im running a Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz system with Windows XP Home.

Im running the latest dosbox (err 072 I think). and the newest version of the dos box game launcher

I installed Magic Carpet 2 into c:\mcarpet2

When I tried it with a modified profile from another game around that time period, the game worked, but sound is always off and the in game player information/settings screen verifies this.

I have run the sound setup file repeatedly and it always says the sound is good to go.

Can someone walk me through setting up a proper proven profile for Magic Carpet 2 where the sound will actually work?

Thanks in advance and let me know any other info you need.

P.S. all the prepackaged games included with this release of the dosbox game launcher work fine.

Does it work if you do a clean install of the 0.72 release and don't use any frontend?

The game runs just fine for me, sound seems to be fine as well.
Perhaps you should try my settings, not sure what i changed from the default, so i just give them all, and hope you can use them 😀

I use the following settings in the magic carper config:
MIDI music: Creative Labs Sound Blaster(TM) 16
Digital audio: Creative Labs Sound balster 16 or AWE32

My DBGL config file only shows
[cpu]
cycles=12000
cycledown=500
core=normal

[gus]
dma2=1
dma1=1
Nothing special there. I would suggest a bit more cycles btw, but my comp doesn't handle more.

Try these settings in your configuration file.......
MC2 works for me with sound.
