Is it possible to surf the internet with win 3.11 installed inside dosbox 0.72? Any experiences yet?

My guess is that it should be possible, but you'll need the WinSock package (the TCP / IP drivers) and a browser, such as Netscape or IE.

And most importantly, how to set up the whole thing.

What exactly is the "WinSock" Package?

Check WikiPedia, the entry on Windows for Workgroups 3.11:

A Winsock package was required to support TCP/IP networking in Windows 3.x. Usually third-party packages were used, but in August 1994 Microsoft released an add-on package (codenamed Wolverine) which provided limited TCP/IP support in Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

Ooo those early days. I thought about this too because it just seems cool to use. Now if only the games that made use of it, still were played 😉. I doubt Sierra's servers are still up 😜
