I was told by mods here that you need a latest-generation AMD system with an ATI video card and a non-onboard, Soundblaster name-brand soundcard to make XCom Apocalypse work.

Yes as your system can't handle the emulation layer obviously.

I'll have a new system soon. Prolly in the next 3-4 weeks. Crazy to think you need a PC from after 2006 to play a game from 1997.
2.1 GHz, 2000 MHz H/T, 1 MB L2, dual core AMD Athlon X2
1 GB PC5300 RAM.
ATI HD3100 video (1GB)
AMD North/south chipsets

That should be good enough.

Crazy to think you need a PC from after 2006 to play a game from 1997.

Then DON'T RUN IT IN DOSBOX. If you think your pc can handle the game,
just format a partition and put dos there and be happy.

i have dos 72 and i've dl this game through torrent.. i've tried everything listed here (as well as other things) and when i run the xcom3 batch file nothing happens.. nothing 🙁 makes me sad
