Actually MiniMax wins.

Let's recap:

I just did the intructions word for word but it still asks for a cd

HunterZ wrote:

It's especially imperative that you specify the "-t cdrom -label Daggerfall" parameters to the mount command, with the label having that exact capitalization.

Mstrutz wrote:

i had this same problem. i forgot to capitalize the D in Daggerfall and once i did everything worked fine

Then actually read what MiniMax wrote.

rolleyes.gifHe was wrong. As you can see, it was indeed a label capitalization issue as I had suggested. In other words, the OP was (probably) wrong when he said that he followed the instructions, because he (probably) miscapitalized the label.

No, MiniMax was 100% correct. If the OP's statement was correct,
everything would work (as proven by the OP's last reply, he did NOT
exactly what he said he did).

What the hell are you talking about? You're misreading what MiniMax said. MiniMax said that my explanation of capitalization could not be correct because the OP said he followed the instructions exactly. However, the OP did NOT follow the instructions correctly and therefore the OP and MiniMax were both wrong.

Your logic is wrong. MiniMax never said that capitalization is irrelevant.

Yes he did, see the bold text below:

MiniMax wrote:

HunterZ, you are 100% correct. But that can not be the explanation here, because:

morgwin wrote:

I just did the intructions word for word but it still asks for a cd

Summary:

HunterZ: Make sure to check capitalization.

MiniMax: Capitalization is important but is not the case here because the OP followed instructions.

Other poster: Actually capitalization was the problem for me, so I guess the instructions were in fact not being followed.

HunterZ: I told you so.

If you're reading it differently then you're not comprehending the discussion.

If you're reading it differently then you're not comprehending the discussion.

And now why was MiniMax wrong? He concluded that from "OP followed the
instructions (he said)" and "it does not work" there are two possibilities:
a problem unrelated to capitalization, or an OP that is lying. And it was
exactly like MiniMax said (2nd case).

MiniMax was wrong because he never proposed the second case that you mention! He only concluded the first possibility.

Miki Maus was the one the proposed the second case, which turned out to be correct.

I guess you must have misread Miki Maus as MiniMax.

You are lying.

That was earlier. Your interpretation is correct if and only if MiniMax was being sarcastic in his later post.

You do realize that it wasn't the original poster who said he/she had a capitalization issue which means there has been no confirmation about what the problem was. morgwin != Mstrutz

(You also get the same copyright error using previous DOSBox versions.)

There's no sarcasm but plain reasoning.

@Malignant: Yep I do realize that.

@wd: 🤣 no, you can't take an earlier post out of context and say that it builds on a later one. There's no logic to what you're saying.
