Hello, DOSBOX developers!
I have my favorite chess program ( I guess it was written on Borland
C++ for DOS )
It runs OK in Windows XP (service pack 2), but does not run in Windows 7.
I installed DOSBOX (v.0.74). It works OK in Windows 7, and I
enjoy running very old DOS games
( such as F19.com - I like it very much!)
But PC.exe ( the main file of chess300 package ) does not run.
DOSBOX alerts "No font" and exits ( see attached .JPG file ).
I launched this file by creating a copy of the entire game directory (
sending it to you as
chess300.zip ) and by dragging and drop PC.exe onto DOSBOX icon on the desktop.
OOps! gmail does not permit sending executable files (even zipped),
so, please advice me a way to send you the chess300 package.
Please resolve this problem, please and instruct me how to launch the
program to enjoy
playing chess with my computer.

Thank you in advance.

was it really needed to mail me at my personal email as well ?
And you posted it in the wrong forum.

Maybe run it in the debugger version of DOSBox (see development forum),
but If I were to guess you mounted something wrong.

Look here:
I made an experiment with 3 computers (NB: in all 3 cases the main game
file PC.exe was invoked by dragging and dropping onto the DOSBOX icon on the desktop )
1. Pentium 3, OS= Windows XP Home edition. Game runs OK.
2. Pentium 4, OS= Windows XP Professional edition. Game runs OK.
3. Pentium 6000 Toshiba L630 notebook. OS=Windows 7 Game does not run. DOSBOX alerted: "No font"

So, please answer me - who is guilty?
I guess, that DOSBOX is guilty, but not my way to launch the program.

Do not drag and drop.

Use the proper mount points.

Hint: If your chess program is run from the root of C:\ then you are wrong
