Hi ,

Is there anyone know the IMAGE256 of A4tech ?

http://www.helpdrivers.com/scanners/A4Tech/Image256/

It is a great graphics edit program.
But can't run in DOSBOX 0.74.
Anyone can help me ?

it's not a Dos program, it's a Windows 9x program and requires a scanner....

No no no ....
Please take a look at the URL I wrote.
It is exactly a DOS program and I have the A4 scanner.
You can decompress image256.exe by WinRAR.
I remember It runs without connecting the scanner.
(maybe different version ?)
But this program shows main screen then hangs in DOSBOX 0.74 ...

try the older version Image72, but thats only support 16 color.

it has 4 version:
for hercules graphics,
for monochome ega,
for ega (16 selectable from 64 colors),
and for vga (16 from 262,144 possible colors)

thats version definetly for DOS, as i remember running that program on XT machine with 256K-VGA.
and i have no scanner at that time too.

the manual for that program contain a somewhat NSFW image.

UPDATE:
finally found Image72, except for the hercules version,
its turn out that it also runs just fine under WinXP (x86),
dosbox doesn't really needed, unless you're using x64 windows....

The app has a bug that occurs when DOS reports more than 11 valid drive letters via INT 21/0E. DOSBox reports 26 drives because of the Z: drive, but the bug would also occur in real DOS if LASTDRIVE= in CONFIG.SYS is higher than K.

Put the attached workaround program in the app folder and run it to start the app; it changes the reported drives to the maximum safe number of 11. You will also need ETen 2.x installed somewhere that the app can find it, and DOSBox settings of ems=true and machine=svga_et3000 or machine=svga_et4000.
