...when I use my SC-55 in MT-32 mode. The music is fantastic but there are no sound effects whatsoever. Is this cause I need a real MT-32 or is that just the way it is. I was under the assumption that Monkey used the MT-32 default instrumentaion.

Thanks!

I've simply tried starting the game and opening/closing the door to the scumm bar. Results: sfx on AdLib, no sfx on a real MT-32. Maybe there are other sfx further in the game, but it seems like that's "just the way it is".

Thanks for the reply!

Are you using a real MT-32? or Emu or what?

As I mentioned "no sfx on a real MT-32", so I'm obviously using a real one.

I've noticed this behavior as well, both in SCUMMVM and DOSBox, and both on real and emulated MT-32. Lazy game designers I guess...

So if you want sound effects AND music, play the CD version I guess...
