Getting DOSBox installed and running was easy and Lemmings 2 runs beutifully EXCEPT that it will not let me get to level 2 on any of the tribes. When I try saving or loading it always shows the main menu.

I'm running XP and have Lemmings 2 installed on an old drive (the version worked perfectly on an older 486 system) and on a newer 7200rpm hard drive and the problem remains. Version of DOSBox is 0.63.
I am an old school boy who was brought up from DOS 2 onwards so I know my way around DOS.
try running l2-fix instead of l2
Nope! no change there. It still won't allow me to load or save a game or pass level 1.
I remember having a problem like that in real DOS waaaay back when. I think it may have been a copy-protection issue (as boyofdestiny suggested) but I'm not sure.
