Hi,

Installation goes smooth, but when running the game a bit of music will start playing and then dosbox freezes on a black screen (digital sound trying to play maybe?), tried all different SB options on dosbox (game itself has no sound setup I'm aware of), also tried ("set sound=" with a path to ct-voice, but no go).

This doesn't work on 0.63 either.

Anyone else tried this game? Eternam floppy works great...

On a dos window on Win98 the game runs (although sound is messed up on the sblive and it's a bit too fast for my taste 😉 )

Both floppy and CD versions works ok for me.

Btw I have a question concerning CD version.
After instalation it makes eternam.bat that contains:
@intro
@eter_cd
@cleardrv>NUL

intro.exe - is just a company logo
eter_cd.exe is a game

but there is also game intro on the CD: eterinro.exe
why it is not used with regular installation??

What are your sound settings?

I think I ran that intro file manually and all I got was a few nice pictures over the ETERNAM logo...

I may have been a slight impatient and should have waited a bit more...

Hmmm,

You are right, ETERNAM CD works great from my XP using this mounting line for the CDROM:

mount d d:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl

ETERNAM CD works great from my win98 *if* I create a bin/cue image, mount that image in Daemon Tools and run it with:

mount d i:\ -t cdrom

*However* if I try mounting from my win98 using the actual CD in a real drive mounting like this:

mount d e:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -aspi

Then the game refuses to run...

Solution:

mount d e:\ -t cdrom

I figured using the -aspi was better on win98, but maybe not always?

/me goes to recheck other CD games to make sure they weren't affected by the same problem...
