I'm trying to get some Sierra games working in DosBox 0.63. After running 'install' to set it up, I try running 'sierra' to start the game, all I get is a black window. The window title says it's running SCIV, and nothing appears to happen. If I enable mouse support, I get a cursor that does not respond. DosBox is not frozen and still responds to Control-Fx keys.

I'm running DoxBox 0.63 on Mandrake 10.1 x64 (Asus MB), Athlon 64 3000+, 1GB RAM,SB Live, ). It's compiled with SDL and ALSA support. I run DosBos on X.org included in the standard distro.

The games I have tried are Hero's Quest I (aka Quest For Glory non VGA) and King's Quest IV.

I have tried different video and audio drivers (CGA 2 colour, CGA 4 colour, EGA/VGA, Tandy 1000) and audio drivers (all of them in combo with the above)

Many other games work well for me, I don't understand why these Sierra games won't - the games are listed as being supporte. Could this be an x64 specific problem?

The older KQ (1-3) run well, as do Silpheed, Thexder, and Thexder II.
