Processor: AMD Athlon(tm 64 processor 3700+, MMX, 3dnow, ~2.2GHZ
RAM: 1022MB
Video Card: RADEON X1600 Series
512.0 MB total memory
Sound card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Operating System: Windows XP
Games name:Heroes of Might and Magic

K. So I type in HEROES.EXE to launch it and it shows me this:

It happens every time. This is my first time using DOSBox.

I use Direct Sound
I use Direct X (latest version) for Video Mode
I am using DOSBox 0.63
I have read the READ ME and found nothing having to do with this problem.

Yep, and you need to set core=auto and cycles=auto in dosbox.conf.....and read the README.

this is my first time using dosbox.. after following the steps to mount a cd..

dont know why when i try to run the game (HOMM 1).. this error comes up :

error openinig file heroes.cfg!

is there something wrong with the cd or wat?? and if i need to consult the readme.. which part of it should i go to?? i dont understand where my problem is

Have you tried running SETUP.EXE first?

king_njc, why do you resurrect a thread that's nearly one year old, with a problem completely unrelated to the original one?

If you want someone to help you, do the following:
- Read the DOSBox readme, and the various FAQ's here

If you're still having problems:
- Open a new thread, and describe your problem precisely
- Give detailed info about the DOSBox version you're using, your system, and how you did mount your drives
- Tell us the source of the game (Original CD, download, etc.)

Btw: the game works perfectly well with DOSBox 0.72.
