Hello,

I was so lucky this morning, I could play Lemmings after such a long time. But unfortunately it does not work any more...

This morning, I used DosBox 0.65 for the first time and Lemmings was working without any problems after mounting a CD-Rom (because of MSCDEX)

Now, a few hours later, I can start Lemmings and it is running well until the "Ordescreen"appears which is announcing the upcoming level. When I click the mousebutton, the screen fades into a black one and DosBox hangs up.... It doesn't matter if I start the game new or if I enter a code for a higher lever. It is always the same.

I use Win2k and did not make any changes to the system this morning.

Any ideas?

Thanks for help!

Kleine

As the game
is very old i doubt that

I know , it’s hard to believe, but there was a CD version of lemmings (a 457kB game! - PC Lemmings v1.91 from November 1993) with CD check in the executable. I’ve never (! even with dosbox !) managed to run this version with music (sound FX only), so I didn’t play it, but I suppose, some questions in this forum about adlib music in this game, were due to this issue. Probably, for some reasons, install.exe is not able to create a config file on HD (see below).
Here you are:
[autoexec]
#IMGMOUNT D F:\GAMES\DOSBOX\LEM1\L1&2CD.iso -T iso
MOUNT C F:\GAMES\DOSBOX\LEM1\LEMMINGS
C:
VGALEMMI.EXE -v -x
(image001.jpg)

And
[autoexec]
IMGMOUNT D F:\GAMES\DOSBOX\LEM1\L1&2CD.iso -T iso
MOUNT C F:\GAMES\DOSBOX\LEM1\LEMMINGS
D:
INSTALL.EXE
(image002.jpg)

My problem is different though. On the game’s second screen and only there, the graphics in dosbox are displayed wrong (see image003.jpg). Quite strange, but under “pure” XP SP2 (ntvdm), everything is O.K.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

jawell - it is usually a bad idea to try to solve 2 or more problems in one thread. Please make new threads, each detailing each of your problems (sound, installing, corrupted graphics, whatever...).

And please use PNG (or GIF) when you upload screenshots.
