Hi. I use dosbox 0.7
I successfully installed the game to drive C. My cd-rom is in drive D.
Dosbox launches the game well but there's a message "to play the game you need to insert CD." But the CD is already there, in drive D. ???

Here's what I did

1.MOUNT C: C:\WAR2
2. C:
3. dir.exe
4 war2.exe

And like I said, the game launches very good, but a message follows about that CD. What do I do? I am not technical, so you'll have to tell me tep by step what to type 😀

Plz help.

You forgot to mount the CD-ROM drive. Here's how.

Basic cdrom support: mount D D:\ -t cdrom […]

Basic cdrom support:
mount D D:\ -t cdrom

SDL-cdrom support:
mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0

Ioctl cdrom support:
mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl

ASPI cdrom support:
mount D D:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -aspi

By the way, IIRC you don't need DOSBox to run WarCraft II on XP.

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

OK. Here's what I did:

1. mount D D:\ -t cdrom
2. D:
3. dir.exe

but there's no war2.exe or anything like that to run the game. There are only 5 files, like SETUP.EXE , INSTALL.EXE, WAR2ED95.EXE, UVCONFIG.EXE and WAR2EDIT.EXE

I tried to type install.exe , for example, but dosbox just crashed. What did I miss? Also, am I using the right version of DosBox (0.70)? Or should I use, 0.63 or 0.65?

What do I do next?

Thanks for the link, but I am not technical at all and I already have like 20 questions. The instructions are too complicated for me. Is there another, simplier way to make DOSbox recognize that my CD IS in drive D already?

What do I do/type? Anybody?

I did it!!! I followed the instruction on that link and the game ran perfectly when I installed it from DosBox.

Then I played the game a bit, saved the game and quit.

Now, how do I start the game again? I mean that the game has been installed successfully. Now, everytime I want to play the game again, what do I do? How do I begin? What do I type in DosBox?

I am asking because after I quit the game, I wanted to play it again after a while, so I launched the DosBox as usual.

And then I typed:

1. mount C C:\War2

2. C:

3. dir.exe

...and it said that "file was not found"

What did I do wrong? And What exactly should I type?
