I've DOSbox 0.70 installed.
I'm using HP connectivity pack for HP200LX version 1.00.
This package has the DOS version of HP200LX palmtop applications and lets you run them on a PC.
The software is installed and running; the problem is that there is not much memory left.
Within those applications there is HPcalc which has a great equation solver that I use often.
When the software is loaded and running I'm not able to deal with data files (where my equations are) larger then about 15K; I get the message "insufficient memory".
The application has 2 TSRs that must be loaded first:
- Tkernel.exe (167Kb)
- CG.com (27Kb)
Then you run Launcher.com (3Kb) from where you can start any program in the package (in this case HPcalc, that is Tcalc.exe - 124Kb).
I tried to LoadHigh those TSR - but I only could get 15Kb more of Conventional Memory (below 640Kb).
I tried some memory managers but it seems there are some drivers that must be loaded in CONFIG.SYS file and that cannot be done, as far as I know, in DOSbox.
I read an article from Smart Computing (May,1992) where it is said that there is software that allows TSRs to be loaded into expanded memory - they were talking about PopDrop Plus which unfortunately I do not have.
Have you got any suggestions on how to free up memory below 640K?
Is there any other software that you know about allowing TSRs to be loaded into expanded memory or somewhere else above 640K?
I'm running Windows XP on a AMD Athlon Dual Core with 2Gb RAM
