Hows it going? Better than me i hope. Anyways i just got my hands on the RR Family Reunion pack and have been busting my butt trying to get Rides Again going. Touble is it works bu tthen it doesnt. The intro works fine but as it loads up all the files and goes to the game menu it cacks itself and says Map E2L2.map not found! Dont get me wrong but ive looked this up on the net and cant find anything about it other than stuff related to Duke Nukem 3D any ideas what the problem is and how i can fix it. Am dying to play this as its taken me a fair few years to get my hands on it. Running it through DosBox on Windows vista

I am sure you know what version of DOSBox you are running, how you mounted your the drives in DOSBox, which commands you used to install it, how you configured it after install, which command you use to start the game, the colour of your hair, phase of the moon, if that E2L2.MAP file exist somewhere or not, and if you have read the "How to ask questions" article in my signature.

Ok i see where your going with this. ver 0.72. redneck installed to c:\redneck for ease of mounting as follows... mount c c :\redenck
file e2l2.map isnt to be found anywheres on this machine. and no havent read your thingie on how to ask questions. this is sorta a last resort to find out WTF is the problem.

You won't see a file named e2l2.map. All of the maps and many other resources were found in redneck.grp. When you search you see things referring to Duke 3D since Redneck Rampage uses the same Build engine. I have the original, not the compilation that you mentioned, but you can either start the game by running again.bat or ra.exe.

My redneck.grp file is 191,798,609 bytes. I wonder if yours has been modified, or if the again.bat is trying to load a custom level. Try starting it from the ra.exe executable instead of the bat file.

"installed to c:\redneck" - how? With the same mounting (mount c c :\redenck) as now when you try to run it?

Edit: I assume that you did not make the same typo (redneck vs redenck) in DOSBox.

Should be "Mount c c:\games" and then install RedNeck Rampage into that.

Should be "Mount c c:\games" and then install RedNeck Rampage into that.

because it could be a simple error of some paths not being correct due to some other mounting or because you didn't install the game from within Dosbox but from Windows.
