Hello everyone,

I'm using Gulikoza's latest build of DOSBox with Glide support and am having a few issues with Glide.

My first is with resolution. No matter what I set the full screen resolution to the game will always default to 640x480 in full screen mode.

Next up is clipping issues. I took a few screen shots that I uploaded for the Tomb Raider Chronicles forum:

http://img359.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dosb … 21043335bs4.png

http://img370.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dosb … 21125361iw9.png

I installed the game using DOSBox and I am using the Voodoo Rush patch for Glide support. My Tomb.exe file is 853KB in size. My setup is Vista Business x64 with all the latest patches including SP1 and an ATI 3870 with the 8.3 drivers. I followed a set of instruction that I found from a user named gidierre over at the Tomb Raider Chronicles forums to setup DOSBox with Glide support.

I'm no expert with the DOSBox GLIDE patch, but i've been playing around with Lara for quite some time now. (;

The clipping errors are "normal", i'd say. DOSBox' GLIDE emulation is not perfect, and "real" 3D graphics was quite new at the time Tomb Raider was released, so i think TR's 3D code is far from perfect, too.

The GLIDE resolution seems to be hard-coded. It has nothing to do with the resolution you have in your dosbox.conf. Setting a higher resolution would be useless anyways - TR's textures/models/etc. are at a very low resolution, so there would be no gain in image quality with a higher resolution setting.

I have these clippings too, no matter what you change in dosbox.conf they wiil still exist. So ADDiCT is right about it.
Gulikoza once said that changing resolution was not supported by glide patch YET, so maybe there is a little chance he will add it in the future.

What...you mean like this? 😉
Unfortunately I have much too little time to finish it, but Moe and I promised to make it work this year 🤣
TR engine errors are common, actually Glide emulation is too perfect some wrappers have workarounds to reduce such problems...

Ooooo that is so pretty! 😀 If you ever need a beta tester I would love to help out! 😁 Very glad to see you guys are working on a solution and knowing this makes it worth the wait. If you don't mind me asking with more and more widescreen monitors becoming the norm are there plans to support high resolutions like 16:9 or 16:10 modes? Personally I use 1920x1080.
