Perhaps you should first make certain Dosbox is properly installed.
Ensure that you read the Dosbox README file.
Please confirm you have set proper VISTA permissions.
Make sure to properly mount the game sub-directory.
Original DOS games have DOS installers.
Repeat any game setup already performed under Dosbox.
Put a mount command for your CD-ROM as drive D:.
Have the DOS installer load all files.

You should select the proper emulated sound card.
Other soundcard choices can be auditioned with Dosbox.
Unselect any unused emulated soundcards in DOSBOX.CONF.

Many times using the Dosbox scaler functions helps older games.
Otherwise the game screen appears too small on today's monitors.
Remember to set the emulated CPU cycles to around 4,000 to 6,000.
On some PC systems try different output= choices for best performance.
Never think that Dosbox can not run older DOS games, it works well.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

And it would also help to know which game you're talking about. Dear pepemorph, please stop writing in the style of a 6-year-old dyslexic with a brain tumor (this is not the first time you're doing that, btw.).

P.S.: please forgive me if you actually _are_ a 6-year-old dyslexic with a brain tumor

He said any game, I think he means any game.
To be clear, though, pepemorph, which games did you run that caused this?

Dang, I wish I had that kind of time... but you left out the second "e".

Ah, general_vagueness, the misunderstood philanthropist. If you're desperate to raise your karma level, try to help pepemorph by PM (or phone, fax, by meeting him in person, marrying him, etc. - it doesn't matter, as long as we're not forced to read his spastic posts anymore). I'm sure you two would get along nicely. It could be the beginning of a wonderful friendship.

P.S.: i'm amazed by the fact that you have discovered that pepemorph owns every game known to mankind, and has tried to run them all in DOSBox - only to find out they're crashing. Oh, the irony.

Is it that hard to stay on topic?
