Hi guys,

just started playing EARTH2140, yesterday. Game works fine instead of sound.

My preferences:
mount c: c:\games\earth
mount d: d:\earth -t cdrom

This was working with Jagged Alliance, but with Earth, for some reason, it doesn't.

At the installation of the game I chose 'Sound Blaster 16', was it the wrong decision?

If someone got a clue, please let me know 😉.

Edit: Just saw that other persons got the same problem. Further if I try to start the game with the game.exe instead of earth800.bat it won't start at all. I get an error: 'Couldn't initialize the sound card.'

Try a different sound card (choosing a different SB).
Try a different IRQ for the sound card.
Try disabling GUS in DOSBox (if enabled).
Try using LOADFIX before running the game.
